Book: PRC vs The Cathedral

·

We’re very happy to announce the launch of PRC vs The Cathedral, a thought-provoking book by Adam Hyde, CEO of the Kotahi Foundation. This work dives into the transformative potential of the Publish-Review-Curate (PRC) model in scholarly publishing.

The book explores how PRC shifts academic publishing from traditional, hierarchical “cathedrals” to dynamic, community-driven “bazaars.” It highlights how these models challenge entrenched power structures, foster inclusivity, and encourage rapid dissemination of research.

This is Version 1, currently available as a PDF. In true PRC spirit, the book is a living document, open to feedback and collaboration. Future updates will include additional formats—EPUB, web, print—and possibly new contributions.

We encourage you to share the book widely, spark conversations, and help shape the future of scholarly communication. Let’s collaborate to reimagine publishing!
